Challenge distorted global perceptions of Africa’s true scale while avoiding colonial visual language, working within a restricted palette of red, black and white.

 

Solution

Bohemian developed a bold, editorial-inspired visual system using ripped-paper textures and a breaking news aesthetic to signal urgency and correction. Map treatments were reworked with layered textures and strong typographic hierarchy, creating clarity and impact within the limited colour palette. Animated elements amplified the message and reinforced the scale visually.

 

Results

The project contributed to the wider movement challenging geographical misconceptions, delivering concept-led, design-driven storytelling that reframed how audiences perceive Africa’s place on the world map.
