BET Africa Day – Real Recognise Real
For BET Africa's Africa Day celebration of global Black excellence, we turned static portraits into immersive digital work with global environments and real-world sound design. It became one of Bohemian's most awarded projects, with 7 awards from Promax 2023 and GEMA 2024.

The brief
BET Africa set out to celebrate global Black excellence for Africa Day, working primarily with static photography. The creative needed to honour powerful figures while finding a way to inject energy, movement, and cultural depth into still imagery.
Our approach
Bohemian transformed static portraits into immersive digital experiences. We integrated global environments into the visuals, referenced the styles and visual languages of prominent African digital artists, and layered in sound design built from real-world audio textures.
Results
The result was a series of bold posters and animated executions that felt expansive, contemporary, and deeply rooted in culture. It became one of Bohemian’s most awarded projects, earning 7 awards from Promax 2023 & GEMA 2024.
